This is a Free Crochet Pattern to crochet a baby hat.
The hat is made from the brim up to the textured crystal wave pattern which makes up the main pattern of the Baby Hat.
The EASY repeated pattern makes for a beautiful, textured, and unique hat that is sure to impress.
The Crystal Wave Baby Hat Crochet pattern is worked in ROWS and you should be able to work a front post single crochet.

BRIM - You will first follow the measurements for making the Brim which will equal the HEAD circumference + a little extra for room to grow.
Hat Height (The main hat is made up of the crystal Waves Pattern) for the Size you are making for
Here are the Measurements I use for the first few Baby sizes
Abbreviations Used - US Terms
Ch = Chain
Dc = Double Crochet
FPSC = FRONT Post Single Crochet, work a single crochet around to the front of the stated post of the previous row's stitch.
BLHdc SlSt = Back Loop Half Double Crochet Slip Stitch
Dc = Double Crochet
FPSC = FRONT Post Single Crochet, work a single crochet around to the front of the stated post of the previous row's stitch.

NOTES: Always start the Brim Rows, by chaining 2 at the END of the row in the same direction each time. At the start of ROW always working into the 3rd chain from hook

BABY HAT CROCHET PATTERN STARTS HERE
Chain 12,
working into the 3rd stitch from the hook. Hdc Slip Stitch into the back loops of the remaining chains. Ch2, TURN
Row 2: Into the 3rd chain from your hook, and in every stitch across, work a Bl-Hdc Slst. Ch2 TURN.
Row 3 to The Circumference measurement is reached, Repeat Row 2
Once you have reached the desired Circumference for the size you are making. DO NOT FASTEN off turn your work to the First ROW of the Pattern evenly along the side of the Ribbing just made.
Row 1 of the Pattern:
Ch1, TURN. sc into the ch1 space, and work 3dc into the same space, *Skip 3sts, sc into the 4th st, ch3, and work 3dc into the SAME place as the single crochet* Repeat from * to * and work sc into the very last space.
Row 2: Ch3, TURN, skip 2dc, FPSC (Front post single crochet)into the 3rd Dc of the previous row, ch3, and work 3Dc into the ch3 of the previous row. REPEAT along to the last group of 3dc made into the chain 3 of the previous row, and single crochet into the previous rows single crochet.
Row 3: ch3, TURN,*skip 2dc, FPSC (Front post single crochet) into the 3rd Dc of the previous row, ch3, and work 3Dc into the ch3 of the previous row.
REPEAT from * to* along to the last sc, and finish with a single crochet into the top of the chain3 from the previous row
Row 4: ch3, TURN, *skip 2dc, FPSC (Front post single crochet) into the 3rd Dc of the previous row, ch3, and work 3Dc into the ch3 of the previous row. REPEAT from * to* along to the last sc, and finish with a single crochet into the top of the chain3 from the previous row
Row 5: to Hats HEIGHT Measurement is reached in the PATTERN (If making with a turn up remember to exclude the TURN UP in your measuring!) Ensure your working the Hat RIGHT SIDE FACING YOU. Slip to JOIN THE LAST single crochet to the TOP of the Ch3 at the start.
Shaping the TOP of the hat FINAL ROUNDS: sc into the 3 double crochet sts, skip the sc and the chain 3 and continue working single crochet ONLY into the 3dc sts from the previous round. DO NOT join,
Rnd 2: *skip 1 stitch and sc into the next* repeat from * to * around until you have approx 10 sts remaining.
Fasten off and leave a LONG tail for sewing the hat together.
Taking the long tail weave in and out the remaining sts to close the top of the hat.
Working down the edges of the seams. Sew neatly to join. At the bottom of the hat.
Fasten off and weave in any loose ends neatly
