I have included some helpful photos to enable you to crochet your very own Crochet Red Rose.

I am always being asked how do you crochet a long stem English 3d large ROSE

As WELL as Being a favorite flower to crochet for Valentine's day.

Around the world, the traditional significance of the Red Roses is a sign of LOVE and often hear of Valentine's gifts receiving bouquets with 12 dozen Roses.

The crochet Rose is the central flower of the Beijing Olympic Winter Games awards bouquet.

The inclusion of the  Crochet English Rose flower in the bouquet signifies Friendship.

I wanted to crochet a single red rose however I could only find crochet rose diagrams online.

And I am not good at reading them.

SO I set out to write out a pattern to crochet a rose.

I really really wanted a simplified written crochet pattern to create a realistic English long-stemmed Crochet Red Rose.

I have tried to make this written Rose pattern really simple.

It is made up of several circular shapes worked in the round and then glued together.

I also already have an extremely popular and easy FREE Crochet rose Flower pattern which is made in ROWS

then rolled up to resemble more of an open Tea Rose Flower.

HOw to crochet a Rose EASY

I love the winter Olympics.  And when I heard they were giving out crochet bouquets to the medalists well i just had to create my own patterns for my very own Olympic bouquet.

To celebrate this year's winners China have made it clear they are approaching the Games in the best way they can, to limit the impact on the planet.

So this year instead of fresh flowers which would only last a few weeks. A team of crocheters in China has been busy making crochet flower bouquets for the medalists.

Working tirelessly to create the most beautiful bouquets. Around 50,000 hours in total!

Local Shanghainese participating in the production of the Winter Olympic Crochet Flower Bouquets are all members of the Yangpu District Qiaoshou Mother Workshop. Yangpu District Qiaoshou Mother Craft Workshop was established in June 2010. It aims to support women who are unemployed, migrant wives, migrant workers and other needy families. With the goal of learning and mastering hand-knitting skills, while achieving independent employment, it is committed the charity service.

and I was So excited when the Olympics released the official picture of their winner's crochet bouquet

In honor of the work that the crocheters have done I  wanted to try to replicate the bouquet of crochet flowers and create a special flower bouquet myself.

and  to help you to create the beautiful crochet flowers that are in the Olympic bouquet

There are seven types of flowers for the Beijing Winter Olympics awards bouquets:

Crochet ROSE:  symbolizing friendship and tenacity, (FREE WRitten pattern and step-by-step instructions to crochet a Large Long stem English red rose.
