Materials you will need to create the Tulips
Double-knit yarn in any color of your choice
Crochet hook size 2.50mm
Tapestry needle
Scissors
wooden kebab sticks
Thin florist wire for the leaves
Glue Gun
Abbreviations (Pattern is written in US Terms)
Ch: chain
Sc: single crochet
Sts: stitches
Crochet Tulip Pattern (Makes 1 )
Rnd 1: Ch 2, work 6 sc into the first chain. (6sts)
Rnd 2: 2sc into each st around.(12sts)
Rnd 3: Ch 2, *2sc into the same st, sc in the next 2 sts*, Repeat from * to * around. (24sts)
Rnd 4: Ch 2, *2sc into the same st, sc in the next 3 sts*, Repeat from * to * around. (30sts)
Rnd 5 to Roud 16, sc in each stitch around . You will now have an upside down U shap
Fasten off leaving a long tail to sew the top of the tulip together
Fill the U shape with fiberfill stuffing and shape.
Using the long tail to sew together
Fold the tulip in HALF and then directly Opposite thread the needle through and PULL tight to join both sides.
FOLD in HALF the opposite sides (to make a + ) and now sew these 2 points together.
Crochet LEAF Pattern for the Tulip Flower
Ch20
sl st into the 2nd chain from the hook, sc in the next stitch,
hdc in the next 3 sts, dc into the next 10 sts, hdc in next 3sts,
Work 3 SINGLE crochet into the LAST chain (the first chain you made)
Turn work and working Along the Back of the chain
hdc in the next 3 sts, dc into the next 10 stss, hdc into the next 3 sts
sc into the next and chain 1. Slip into the Very Top of the chain BEFORE the Slip st at start to finish, weave end in down the middle and fasten off NEATLY.
Leave the Starting chain tail to attatch to the wooden stick later
Start assembeling your Crochet Flowers by gluing a small amount of glue to the pointed edge and Inserting the Sweker up and through the Tulip.
Place another SMALL amout of glue at the bottom of the Tulip and around the stick.
Using GREEN yarn the same as your leaf, Start winding the yarn around the wooden stem.
The 3sc END of the leaf is where you will put the wooden kebab stitch to help attatch and secure.
I use the leafs length as a guide on where to place the leaf on the weeden skewer.
