This is a very easy pattern showing you how to crochet a simple newborn bonnet.
Please Read Pattern instructions carefully before starting to crochet. You will work in rounds first then when pattern states continue working in ROWS back and forth.
I am quite a loose crocheter so please go up or down a hook size if you feel you need to.
Round 1: Ch 4,15 Dc in first ch, join to ch3 (16 sts)
Round 2. Ch 3, Dc in base of ch3, (2 Dc in each st,) repeat ( ) around. Join.
Round 3. Ch 3, Dc in base of ch3, Dc in next stitch, (2 Dc in next st, Dc in next 2 sts. Rep ) around, Join, Ch 3.
Round 4: Ch3, Dc in base of ch3, Dc in next 6ts sts 2, (Dc in next 6 sts, 2Dc in next st) around, join to beg, Ch3
ROW 5. Dc in each stitch, leaving last 6sts unworked Ch 1, TURN (42sts)
ROW 6. Dc in each stitch, leaving last 6sts unworked Ch 1, TURN (42sts)
Row 7: Dc in each stitch, leaving last 6sts unworked Ch 1, TURN (42sts) (This is where you will thread the Ribbon later)
ROW 1: At end of last row, ch 1. Working ALONG the Neckline. Place 1 St in the end of each row and in between dc's on row 4. Ch 1, turn.
ROW 2: sc across the row and in each ch 1 sp. DO NOT FASTEN OFF
Simple Shell Stich Border for the Bonnet.
1. Sl st in 1st st around the face, *skp 1 st, 5 dc in next st, skp 1 st, in sc next. Rep * across the front of the bonnet.
Fasten off and Weave in Ends Thread ribbon through LAST worked Double Crochet Row of Bonnet.
