This pattern is suitable for beginners and uses basic stitches to create a realistic and beautiful daffodil flower.

Materials to make the Daffodil
2.5 mm hook
Craft wire for the leaf
Glue
Small amounts of Yellow, White, and Green Yarn
Abbreviations
Ch - Chain
Sl St - Slip stitch
Sts - stitches
Sc - Single Crochet
Hdc - Half Double Crochet
Dc - Double Crochet
Inc - Increase
Blo - Work in the Back Loop Only
fl-slst - Front Loop slip stitch
Rnd - Round
NOTES:
Work in continuous rounds unless otherwise stated
There are 4 parts that you will crochet to make the Daffodil Flower
1. BASE of Daffodil (Spathe)
2. Flower inner trumpet center (corona) and Petals which are all Made on the same piece
3. STEM
4. Leaves
Base of Daffodil Flower
In GREEN
Rnd 1: Ch2, in the first chain, make 6 single crochet sts,
Rnd 2: work 2 single crochet stitches into each stitch around (12sts)
Rnd 3: sc in each stitch around (12sts)
Rnd 4: sc in each stitch around (12sts)
Rnd 5: Working in the FRONT LOOPS only *ch2, fl-slst in the next st* Repeat from * to * Around.
Fasten off. weave in ends
This will then be sewn to the main daffodil flowers by the Backloops of this last round to the unworked loops
Flower Trumpet
Yellow or in the chosen color
Rnd 1: Ch2, work 6 Sc in the fists chain
Rnd 2: 2sc into each st around (12)
Rnd 3 : Sc in each stitch around (12)
Rnd 4 : in BACK LOOPS only Sc in each st aroud (**you will work in these unworked front loops later**)
Rnd 5 and Rnd 6: Sc in each stitch around (12)
Rnd 7: Ch 2, slst in the same space, Ch2, slst in each st around. Fasten off
Daffodils Petals
Rnd 1: Starting from the front loop stitches of Round 4
*Ch8, working back down then chain just made, sl st into the 2nd stitch from hook and in the remaining 6 chain sts, slst in the next 2 LOOPS from the center flowers Rnd 4* Repeat from * to * around, you are now back to the base of the first petal
(there are now 6 lengths (middle of PETALS) created each with 7 stitches on either side, you will work around and in each of these stitches around to create the PETAL LEAFS)
FIRST Flower PETAL
Starting the first petal, (working up the 7sts and back down the opposite side)
*SC in the first st, HDC in the next st, DC in the next 3sts, HDC in the next st, SC in the next st, CH 1, sc in the next st, hdc in the nexts st, dc in the next 3 sts, hdc in the next st, sc in the next st, slip stitch in the next 2 LOOPS of Rnd 4* (FIRST Petal made with 2 slip stitches in Rnd 4 Loops)
Repeat around from * to * until you have 6 FLOWER PETALS.
Fasten off but leave a long tail for the next step Holding the GREEN BASE BACK LOOPS to the Daffodil Petals SEW these 2 pieces together As shown below
You can use any yarn and hook size you like, and make as many daffodils as you want.

Ch30
Rnd1: sc in the 2nd chain from hook and sc in the next 4 sts, dc in the next 15 sts, sc in the next 8 sts, Work 3 SC on the LAST st, turning to work BACK down the stitches just worked.
Sc in the next 8 sts, hdc in the next 15 sts, sc in the last 5 sts.
EITHER. single crochet in EACH stitch around and Use start or something to stiffen the Leaf to help keep its shape OR
Add craft wire to this round, and single crochet around the leaf incorporating the craft wire as you work.

Using green wire,
Loop through the GREEN bulb at the back of the flower and cover with yarn by twisting down the length of the wire.
When you get far enough down the stem, attach the wires from the Leaf! and twist them together to make the rest of the stem.
Cover in yarn and glue to keep in place
