I love crocheting these Earwarmer headbands as they are so easy to crochet and quick to make.
The simple crochet stitch looks ribbed, and crocheting the ear warmers means you can practice your crochet technique using the easy Single Crochet Stitch, (US terms Used)
For this crocheted ear warmer you are going to Work INTO the BACK LOOP of the previous row's stitches.
A single crochet stitch (often abbreviated as sc (US) or a dc (UK) ) and it is a fundamental crochet stitch. Here’s how it’s done:
- Insert your hook into the desired stitch or space. THE BACK LOOPS of the previous rows stitches
- Yarn over (wrap the yarn around the hook from back to front).
- Pull through the stitch, so you have two loops on your hook.
- Yarn over again.
- Pull through both loops on your hook.
This creates a single crochet stitch. When working into the back loop only of the previous row's stitch, you insert your hook through the back loop of the stitch instead of both loops.
This technique creates a ribbed effect and is often used for creating texture in crochet projects.
Especially useful in ribbing for hats, crochet headband patterns, cardigans, or jumper cuffs.
The single crochet back loop (black) is perfect for headbands as it is street
Gauge
8 sts = 2 inches
10 rows = 3 inches
The number of Rows is worked out by adding a little bit of stretch into the headband and will fit approximately for the sizes below.
You can add or subtract rows if you feel it's too long.
However do not be scared to stretch the headband when measuring as it WILL stretch with use, so the headband is better to start off slightly smaller in length

SEW through these 4 Pieces and flip over
Fold ONCE Crochet Earwarmer
As the name suggests you are going to simply
FOLD 1 side of your work So you have a 90-degree turn, in the middle of the headband.
Still holding the 90-degree position, fold the triangle pieces again towards you, so the sides are now laying FLAT against each other, then simply join the 2 end pieces together.
