The original hat is very popular and when I teamed it with a little pair of booties and a dress,

It became one of  my reader's favourite go -to patterns.

I kept being asked how people could make this hat bigger. So here I will write out several sizes

The Original Baby Beanie in Double crochet with a single crochet border was made for a 0-3 months

Hook: 4.00mm hook
Yarn Double Knit / 8 PLY(11 Wraps per inch)
Pattern written in US TERMS
Gauge: Gauge 22.0 sts = 4 inches
12-18 months  17 inches around,

Double Crochet Baby Beanie Hat Pattern 12-18 months (1- 1 1/2 year Old)

Rnd 1:  Magic Circle Ch 3, 12 DC in Magic circle, slip stitch into top of ch3 (12)
or you can start with ch 4, 12 dc into 1st chain

Rnd 2:  Ch 3, 2 DC in every stitch round (increasing  in every stitch around), Slip into top of ch 3 to join (24)

Rnd 3:  Ch3, (1st Dc in the base chain), 2DC in next stitch, *1DC, 2DC* in next *repeat  **around (you are increasing 1 at every 2nd stitch around) Slip into top of chain 3 to join (36)

Rnd 4: Ch3, (1st Dc in the base chain), 2DC in next stitch, *DC in next 2 sts, 2DC* in next *repeat  **around (you are increasing 1 at every 3rd stitch around) Slip into top of chain 3 to join (48)

Rnd 5: Ch3, (1st Dc in the base chain), 2DC in next stitch, *DC in next 3 sts, 2DC* in next *repeat  **around (you are increasing 1 at every 4th  stitch around) Slip into top of chain 3 to join (60)

Rnd 6:  (1st Dc in the base chain), 2DC in next stitch, *DC in next 8 sts, 2DC* in next *repeat  **around (you are increasing 1 at every 9th  stitch around) Slip into top of chain 3 to join .66sts.

Your Work will measure across circle roughly 6.5 inches 


Rnd 7-11: Chain 3, Starting in base of Chain 3, Double Crochet in each stitch round (Your hat will be taking shape now)
Slip into top of chain 3 to join on every rounds (66sts)

Rnd 12 to Rnd 17(Ch1 at the beginning of each round) Single Crochet around.  Slip into top of chain 3 to join (66sts)

Fasten off and weave in all ends
