Well after a little searching, for an easy crochet booties pattern and not a lot of success I set down with my crochet hook and some yarn, and went to work, and worked out an easy pattern for baby booties shoes.
All made with the same ball of wool. and completed within the same night. The booties can be crocheted in many different colors of your choice as they are so simple to make

Hi! I love your patterns. I made three hats with flowers so far. They are lovely. For the booties, I am getting hung up on Round 6 and 7: the first step says Chain 1, Sc in same stitch. What does it mean to single crochet in same stitch... which stitch exactly? thank you!!!
ReplyDeleteHi Rosemarie you making a single stitch into the base of the turning chain 1 .
ReplyDeleteHi. Ive just finished making one of the pair and am really pleased with it. My only concern is that the back of the shoe is quite floppy and I doubt it would stay on a baby's foot like that. Have I missed a decrease in the heel area?? Otherwise great pattern and lovely looking booties :)
ReplyDeleteI do not decrease in the heel at all? and have no problems with the booties staying on and it keeps its shape well
ReplyDeletehowever if you are finding the heel too floppy, then do NOT SC in Same stitch as chain 1) in each of the rounds.
or you can decrease 2 stitches in round 7 at the heel (equal on both sides)

My friend who had twins, found one twin had smaller feet, I had made 4 the same size, so we stitched thin elastic around one of the twins booties to draw it in at the back for one.
Hi Lisa,
ReplyDeleteI just discovered your site last night. If this is your new hobby I am impressed. It took me years to get my work to look as pristine as yours does. Thank you for sharing your patterns! Although I adapted them (I always do this for some reason, all my pattern books are filled with notes and changes), you're patterns have helped me to produce some of my best work ever for one of my favorite friends. Happy crocheting!

Thankyou for the lovely and inspiring comment. I truly appreciate it. My crochet area is not as organised as my site :) Many times I find my dog running around with one of my WIPs or sitting chewing on my notes. And my poor hubby is now a crochet widow, well he gets to enjoy his golf in peace now . I am so glad you have found the patterns good, I am learning all the time and working out all the time, with thanks to the people who visit me :)

Such a cute set! I am just finishing the first flower, but I don't understand what you mean by row 2 across. Do I continue that sequence to the end of the row? On top? Thanks in advance for the clarification.
