This cute Bunny Bag with Drawstrings and floppy ears makes for a really cute Easter Basket.
I wanted to crochet something for my husband's friend's children to put in as part of their easter gift. |
SO I set out to crochet a cute treat gift bag to give them easter as a gift.
The Drawstring bag is big enough to put a few little chocolate eggs into but also a handy size that they could use at any time of the year to keep their bits and bobs in.
You could also crochet the 5 Little Chicks and put them in the bag.
I crocheted my grandson the 5 little ducks, as he just loved the nursery rhyme.
I decided that since they are in primary I wasn't going to crochet a traditional basket as I wanted something they could carry without anything falling out of it.
So when I started out crocheting them an easter basket, somehow along the way I made the cute Easter Bunny Basket with pull ties.
I Love how it pulls together and ends up looking like a long-eared bunny. I used this yarn I had laying around and it made quite a rustic easter bag.
And you can crochet easter eggs and let the kids have a fantastic easter hunt and fill their little bags
This is a beginner-friendly crochet pattern. YES, you read that right.
NOTES:
- You will work in continuous rounds, and use markers to help keep track of rounds.
- I try to make the sequencing of the crochet pattern easy to remember where to place the increases.
- So to Simplify the Pattern, I have added some Cheats within the pattern.
- When you START the crochet bunny basket, You work a chain and work on either side of these initial chains.
- YOu will INCREASE by 4 stitches in each round, and EACH increase will be into the middle of previous rounds 2 single crochet that you work into the SAME stitch.
- SO once the first round is done simply remember to work 2sc into the middle of the previous rounds 2 sc.
I have made several of these. And love adding little crochet items into the bag
The most Perfect size I have found Using a 4.5mm hook and ARAN yarn (PINK as shown in tutorial photos)
The Green boho style easter bunny basket was made using a 5.5mm hook and Aran weight. Which my grandson took to collect his hidden eggs in.

Finished Bunny Bag without the ties |
You can weave a ribbon or a crochet chain or chord around the Double Crochet stitches of Round 26.
Caution*As with everything being given to a young child please be aware of the length you choose for Choking hazards*
The Green was for an older child so I made a cord from yarn, The Pink Bunny Bags were for younger children so I used a ribbon.
