Create a beautiful small double layered,  5 Petal 3D flower in 8 easy steps with this free crochet pattern . This is an easy to crochet flower pattern, it does not matter what size of hook or yarn you use it will always turn out, Perfect for adding a little flower power to any of your projects.

You can use any size of hook and any size of yarn, just remember the bigger you go the bigger your flower, and vice versa.

I used a 4.00mm hook and Redheart Lisa Purple

ch1.
Step 2: 10 sc in center of ring.
Step 3: sl st to top of top of ch.
Step 4: create a petal in the first sc - [SC, 3dc, SC, skip 1] Repeat [ ] around to create 5 petals in total, sip stitch to join into top of 1st sc.
Step 5: FLIP work over to work on  BACK of the flower, pull through the chain, to be able to work on the BACK of the flower.
Step 6: ch 3, and sc around the post of  the first previous rounds SC to secure, repeat [ ] around creating a series of 5 loops total.
Step 8: FLIP work over to Right side and work back into lops just made create a large petal in the first loop by [sc, 5dc, sc] repeat [ ] in each loop around,  sl st to join with first sc of first petal.

This makes a really good flower to add to a hat, and fasten the flower with a button or why not chain some lengths of yarn and attach flower and make a very simple yet effective head band. My daughter loves it when I can whip up a unique hair accessory to match all her outfits.

I'm not sure what you mean in step 6 where you say to sc down through base opening of small petal. Do I sc into a stitch or into the ring made by the chain 5? Please help.
