This is an easy but simply brilliant crochet cardigan pattern for the small members of the family.

Such an enjoyable crochet project. I love the simplicity of this crochet pattern.

BUT please NOTE: this is not a beginners pattern,   I would like to think if you have mastered simple pieces increasing and decreasing, you will find this a very easy project.  It is made in basic shaped pieces and then sewn together.

You should have experience in shaping for pieces front and back and neck edges.

Please read through the WHOLE pattern before commencing.

This can be made for a boy or a girl, any colour you wish. The pattern gives it a really cosy texture and my niece loves her son wearing this hooded cardigan whilst out and about.

More recently I have crocheted several versions of the cardigan for my Grandson.

It is so easy to make up and finish, it fits perfectly for the 3-6 month sizing and is chunky and warm.

The original Pattern used a crossed double crochet, single crochet pattern.

I have simplified the pattern using a Half Double Crochet. Throughout.

Directions are for size 3-6 months. Changes for 12 and 18 months are in the ( )

I only recently progressed to crocheting baby clothes, after mastering booties and hats, I love how easy and quick these baby sweaters are to make.

  • Bigger sizes 5.00mm
  • Finished item Chest measured 18 inches (20", 21 3/4")
  • Ch=chain
  • sc=single crochet
  • dc=double crochet

I Love the variations to the crochet cardigan pattern  I have made over the years. I think my most favourite was a Santa Jacket for my Grandsons FIRST Christmas

I simply made the BASIC cardigan without the HOOD for my Grandson when he was a few months older and you can see here in this picture I trimmed the edging with a soft white fluffy yarn.

This set (grey Below) was for 6-month-old baby, again using the Basic cardigan crochet pattern with no hood.

Make sure you find back centre
of neck edge and sew the hood into place, sometimes 2 stitches  of the neck edge to the 1 stitch of the hood, this gives a bulk shaping to the back of the hood for fitting head shape. )

Crochet Toys - Cute Crochet Bunny

crochet-free crochet toy patterns-free crochet patterns-crochet bunny rabbit Just popping in today to post this photo of a finished crochet Bunny. I am having so much fun just now crocheting toys for the kids.  one of the best things about hand crocheting these little critters is the love the kids show for them, I made a teddy bear at Christmas time, and my little neice who is 4 picked him up from the Xmas Tree and it is now joined to her, where ever she goes "ted" goes too. I am amazed at what this little crocheted toy has been through, it is nearly sucked to death, put through the washing machine time and time again, and its as floppy as a marshmallow, yet you cannot get that Ted away from her. I burst with an overwhelming sense of sheer love and satisfaction that in todays technology filled world we can create these loved toys.
Unfortunately that means the kids put in their orders of what they would like so I am always looking for some gorgeous free crochet toy patterns.

I think you will agree how beautiful and cute this little kawaii amigurumi crochet bunny Rabbit is that I just finished.

The Pattern is really easy to follow and gives good clear instructions on how to add in the eyes and nose. I actually feel that confident I could crochet another bunny without looking at the pattern.

I stuffed this one with Super soft toy filling, and used buttons to finish and an easy to crochet flower.

Baby Bear Cardigan An Easy Baby Crochet Cardigan Sweater Pattern (Newborn -3 months)

free baby crochet patterns easy crochet cardigan pattern for baby-baby crochet patterns-free crochet patterns-crochet cardigan
Baby Bear Crochet Cardigan Pattern
I must admit this is one of the cutest crochet cardigans for a baby boy I have made.  And the Pattern is so easy to adjust to get a different look for your baby sweater jacket.

I like the button being offset at the front, this is because some baby cardigans can become wet under the chin from dribbling, this smoother edge ensures this area is nice and soft for baby's chin and no buttons rubbing.

Cardigan is worked from the neck down, from the yoke in one piece.

I used 1 x Ball of 100g Cygnet Aran  used for this project.
USING A 4.00mm hook I achieved a  finished chest size of 17inches around. (0-3 months)

Alternative hooks and yarn ideas I have used to make this pattern

I have also made this using ( REdHart Cream Aran) with a 3.5mm hook, finished Chest size is 17 inches around  (Newborn)
A 4.50mm hook and James C brett Double Knit Gave me Chest size is 17 inches around  (Newborn)

Free Crochet Pattern Beautiful Vintage Swing Baby Cardigan (0-3 months)

Free Crochet Patterns: Vintage Style Baby Cardigan and Matching Hat (Crochet Baby Set)
As you know I love experimenting with crochet patterns and I was really pleased how this little baby cardigan and hat turned out. I chose purple to fit in with the slightly vintage feel I wanted but of course, you can pick any color you like. I crocheted this up in about 2 hours using gorgeous soft double knit yarn.
The cardigan itself is worked up in one piece and looks and feels fabulous even if I say so myself.

This baby cardigan pattern is one you can follow along at home. The cardigan is designed to be fairly heavy the better to keep baby warm and cosy when out in the pram. The flared sleeves are really pretty but, because they are short, it will work best worn over a long sleeved top of some kind. My friend had asked for shorter length arms. So she could put the baby jacket over babies all in one baby grow.
But You can lengthen the arms  and the

Beautiful Free Crochet Pillow Pattern with Crochet Flowers

easy crochet pillow pattern-crochet pillow with flowers-
I just love the vintage Shabby decor effect these gorgeous crochet pillows or cushion covers have.
They are so simple and easy to crochet. that even if you are a beginner crochet student, following a simple Granny Square crochet pattern you can make this up in no time.

TO finish I made extra crochet flowers, to attach to the seam corners, to keep them tidy.

I crocheted 5 granny Squares with a border of 4 rounds worked into the back loop only.

And 4 granny Squares with a crochet flower in the middle.
Very easy to crochet

easy crochet pillow pattern-crochet pillow with flowers-Free Crochet PatternA great how to crochet the Granny Squares tutorial can be found here.
how to Crochet Granny Squares

and for the Granny Square with flower in the middle was taken from a pattern from the The Granny Square Book available to Buy from most online outlets

This is a relatively easy way to crochet the flower into the Granny Square

Free Crochet Pattern for granny square with flower

Joining the Squares is relatively easy. position them as you want the pattern to follow and then join together into the Square.

I used a cream pillowcase folded to the correct size of joined squares, and attached to the right side of the pillow, this makes an easy slip over for the cushion padding.
