People often ask me is it easy to crochet flowers! I always answer yes! I love the simplicity of crocheting flowers, yet the effect is stunning and can add a little pizzazz to a headband, a crochet hat or in fact any of your crochet projects. So I am going to show you step by step this easy layered crochet flower.   This is a nice flat sitting 3 layer crochet flower, I used double knit yarn and  4.00mm hook,  this was so I could get good clear photos for the crochet flower tutorial.           Ch 8, join with sl st to form a ring Rnd 1:  Ch 1, working in ring, 1 sc, 1 hdc, 4 dc, 1 hdc, 2 sc, 1 hdc, 4 dc, 1 hdc, 1 sc, sl st on the 1st sc. (16 sts)         Rnd 2: Ch 1, sc in same st, (Ch 3, skip one st, sc on next st) repeat around, join. (8 x ch3 loops ) Rnd 3: (Sc, hdc, 3 dc, hdc, sc) in ch-3 loop, sl st in sc} repeat around, join. Free Crochet Pattern for Newborn Baby Beanie Hat

My mother-in-law asked me to crochet preemie hats for the newborn babies in the hospital how could I refuse? These little crochet hats are just too cute, and I have included a finish for boys and girls.
