EASY Baby blanket pattern a Mock C2C Crochet Baby blanket (Block Stitch )

Easy Simple Crochet Baby Blanke pattern for beginners.  This crochet pattern uses the Box Stitch and will create a lovely textured baby  Baby Blanket.  The main crochet blanket stitch is very Easy to Crochet but it has a c2c look and rich texture like the popular corner to corner stitch. But we will work the Rows Back and Forth with no increasing or decreasing like we would when we are crocheting the C2c. (pic Below of C2c being worked)  How to Get the C2C stitch look but follow a Very Easy Pattern. I LOVE the effect of the Diagonal Corner to Corner Stitch.   I'm not gonna lie if you struggle to get the hang of it, it is a frustrating crochet stitch, especially at the decreases!  However, there IS a way to achieve a similar texture with this Easy Box crochet Stitch.  I absolutely Love the finished baby blanket I just made using the box stitch and id even find it hard to differentiate between the 2 stitches.

FREE Vintage Crochet Shawl Pattern Easy

My great aunt came to visit us, she is 95 and every year she says this is my last year.... she just gets on a PLANE and fly's up to Scotland for her weeks holiday. She really is amazing, I wanted to make her something special for her birthday as it fell on her visit, I found this beautiful vintage antique pattern and thought how awesome it would be to make it for my Aunt. The shawl can be used as a lap blanket or a shawl, the stitches mean it is not a heavy piece, and sits snugly onto my aunt making her feel very cosy but not too suffocated as some of the more modern blankets make her feel, and obviously still able to move her hands and arms freely whilst keeping her neck and top of her shoulders warm. This would also make a gorgeous christening blanket for a new baby.

This crochet blanket is so easy to make and is perfect for those wanting extra warmth but without the weight and bulkiness of many blankets out there. My Uncle, who is disabled, and finds himself needing a little extra layer of warmth at night sitting watching the TV, asked me to crochet him a blanket.  He wanted one that was warm enough but not heavy so that he could handle it himself.
