FREE Crochet Pattern Baby Blanket EASY - Little Clouds Crochet Blanket Pattern

A free Crochet Pattern for a Baby Blanket which resembles little fluffy clouds. So Easy and Perfect for even Beginners.
I am so excited for a dear friend who is expecting their first baby. After a few heartbreaking years and lots of trying she is finally going to be a mum. So I was asked to create a special cosy crochet blanket for the new arrival. she had asked me for a large baby blanket that could also be used as a shawl. So this is actually a pretty BIG baby blanket. However it is an easy repetitive stitch , and actually works up in no time.
After trying out several multiple stitches worked together, getting so far and then not liking the texture or look of the blanket, Finally I settled on the effect created by working sc/2dc in the same stitch  it looked perfect in the white yarn and I loved how quickly a nice soft blanket started to develop. The texture reminds me of fluffy little white clouds. And it is really soft and warm. This is a great pattern for working on whilst watching your favorite TV show as the repetition is so easy. Beginners please do not be put off by how impressive this blanket is as its a Great crochet project for a beginner too.

Unique Crochet Baby Shawl Blanket Pattern Perfect Gift for a newborn

Unique crochet Baby Blanket, with beautiful crochet stitches, finished with an easy crochet decorative border.  That will become a family heirloom for all the future babies within the family.
I was looking for a baby blanket pattern that looked impressive yet would be easy and quick to make. I hunted all over and whilst I found several beautiful crocheted baby blanket patterns, none just seemed right for the recipient. I wanted a really unique crochet pattern.
Eventually I stumbled on a crochet pattern design ( not an actual pattern) which looked delicate, and would create a nice lacy textured blanket.
In today's modern world more a stroller or car seat sized blanket, yet could be used for those glorious days when out and about with a pram.

But the beauty of this pattern stitch is that you can just keep repeating the established pattern which is worked from the center out (think granny square but with shells and chain stitches)

for the baby set and blanket I used the beautiful Snuggly Sirdar 4 ply ( 2 x 100grms for the blanket...with a little left over, which actually made the booties ( I cannot get over how beautiful this yarn works up for baby items- HUGE fan of this yarn BUY NOW Sirdar Snuggly 4 Ply 50g - Cream (303)*crochet baby blanket

FREE Vintage Crochet Shawl Pattern Easy

My great aunt came to visit us, she is 95 and every year she says this is my last year.... she just gets on a PLANE and fly's up to Scotland for her weeks holiday. She really is amazing, I wanted to make her something special for her birthday as it fell on her visit,
I found this beautiful vintage antique pattern and thought how awesome it would be to make it for my Aunt.
crochet, free pattern, shawl, baby blanket, lap blanket, vintage crochet patterns, easy crochet patternsThe shawl can be used as a lap blanket or a shawl, the stitches mean it is not a heavy piece, and sits snugly onto my aunt making her feel very cosy but not too suffocated as some of the more modern blankets make her feel, and obviously still able to move her hands and arms freely whilst keeping her neck and top of her shoulders warm. This would also make a gorgeous christening blanket for a new baby.

Free Crochet Baby Blanket Patterns

crochet baby blanket pattern-crochet baby hat pattern Easy Baby Blanket and Baby Hat Set {Free Crochet Pattern} My friends have just had baby Boys! and I was looing for nice crochet pram blanket,  and matching crochet hat set. To make as a gift, I found lots of beautiful girly ones, but  I struggled to find boyish blankets. I  wanted to make sure that it was cosy but also looked like modern for them. I love how easily this stitch works up using combinations of  (sk 1 single crochet, 2 single crochet in next sc}
It  also gives this blanket a cosy texture.
I used a wool arran, with cotton mix
(I was given the wool so I am unsure of its actual make.)

However I would  say its Arran /worsted weight. It you are using a lighter wool make sure you follow the size guidelines. And I would recommend lining it, with a cosy fleece.

I used a very soft cotton wool mix blend Aran (worsted weight)
And a 4.00mm Hook

Gauge on a blanket with a pattern stitch is not so important. I go by measurements.  IF you have not been given measurements then a good rule of thumb for making a pram cover or blanket is
Baby Pram cover or Blanket size.

 W75cm x L100cm - 30 inches x 39 inches .

Ch 101 Loosely.  (or until desired width is achieved)

Row 1:  2 sc in 3rd ch from hook. (Sk next ch, 2 sc in next ch) across to end,  turn — 100 sts.

Row 2: Ch 1, sk first sc, 2 sc in next sc (sk 1 sc, 2 sc in next sc) across to end,  turn — 100 sts.

Repeat Row 2 until blanket is 30 inches. (or desired length)

Edging:
Round 1: Ch 1, dc in each dc across to end of row,  work 3 dc in  last stitch {corner turn) dc evenly across left edge. 3 dc in last stitch {corner turn}
 Dc in bottom loop of each ch across to end, 3 sc in last loop {corner}
Dc evenly across last edge to end, 3 more dc in last sp; join with sl st to first dc of rnd  {corner}

Rd 2: Ch 4 (counts as first dc and ch-1 sp). (Sk 1 sc, 5dc in next sc, ch 1) across to corner.
(2Dc in same sc, ch 1) 2 times more (corner turned). Repeat around for next three sides of blanket, only repeating last (dc in same sc, ch1) one time in last corner.
Join with sl st to 3 rd ch of 1 st ch-4.
 Fasten off.
To finish,  you can weave a ribbon of your chosen colour through the Dc round of blanket edge.

The Diagonal blocks make a stunning effect.
I made this pram blanket for a friend and it was my first attempt at the C2C.
 If like me you get a bit bored with bigger projects, this is perfect. As when you get halfway you start decreasing the stitches and before you know it your finished the blanket.

Please READ through all this pattern before commencing. I have tried to write it out so it is easy if this is your first attempt at a Corner to Corner.

Once you master the sides, and making the first blocks of the rows then the rest whips up really easily. Watch the video to see how to do this easy diagonal stitch.

To make my Vintage Style Baby Blanket

When you have reached your desired length. to make rectangle you are ONLY going to increace on one side this is to make the width now stay the same and the length grow.
Continue working with increacing 1 block ONLY on one side. At the width side we are not increacing, continue INCREACing Right Side of Work by working the 6 chain. combination.
when we get to the end of the round we will slip st across first 3 dc, {(slip st, ch 3, 3 dc) =DECREACE} all in next ch-3 space of previous row;
work in blocks along to the end of work.

Continue making increace until your happy with your length (I made 42 blocks length wise for Pram Blanket in Picture)
Now work in
decreasing
rows as follows: slip st across first 3 dc, * (slip st, ch 3,3 dc) all in next ch-3 space of previous row; repeat from *to last ch-3 space; slip st in last space;

do NOT make any further blocks WORKING (slip stitch, chains 3dc) at EACH ends from now on,

The work now get easier as you are decreacing at both sides now until
1 block remains.
Fasten off.

Border:
You can choose any border you like to finish off this blanket,

Join Yarn and Chain3.
I worked in Double Crochet around the full width and length with 3DC in each corner. So I coudl thread Ribbon through the blanket.
