The leggy froggy makes superb last-minute gifts to crochet because they are such an easy crochet project to make. Even those tricky froggy toes. I will refer to them as PADS!!!
I originally crocheted the leggy frog in An aran-weight yarn due to requests from my online Facebook group
The original leggy frog has a longer body shape and longer arms, but you wanted a smaller version of the leggy frog that can be crocheted super quick
Introduction to the Leggy Frog Pattern
This is a Beginner Friendly Pattern.
The leggy frog is a simple easy crochet pattern to make.
If you have never worked with amigurumi patterns, then do not worry! You should be able to work the basic stitches, working in continuous Rounds, Single Crochet stitches (SC) , slip stitches, (slst), and work 3 Double Crochet stitches TOGETHER (decrease) in one stitch to create the Eyes You will start at the top of the Frog, creating the 'Bumps' for his eyes.
How to make the Leggy ARMS and Legs, you will simply chain a length, and slip stitch back into the specified stitches to create the frogs 'Pads'
The YOu do NOT need to know how to make a Magic ring.
You will chain and work into the first chain from the hook.

Materials - What you will need to crochet the Small Leggy Frog
Green Yarn or choice of color (I have used Double Knit/ light worsted weight to crochet a small leggy frog keyring) and I have used Chunky Yarn to make a plush leggy frog toy)
I have made these using several hook sizes, Example Double knit yarn with a 2.50 mm crochet hook, for a small frog keyring, OR a 4.50 mm crochet hook and fluffy blanket yarn.
Do not slip to join you will work continuously in each round, use a stitch marker to keep track of rounds
To start the Leggy Frog
Chain 10
Rnd 1: Working into the second chain from hook, sc in the next 9 sts, 3 sc into the Last stitch of the chain, turn your work and start working sc into each stitch, by working into the back of the chain back towards the start of the chain.
Rnd 2: In the first stitch of the round work 3dctog all in the same stitch (1st eye bum created), sc into the next 7 stitches, and work 3dctog in the next stitch (2nd eye bump created), sc in each stitch.
(ensure here that your eye bumps are sitting equally apart, I have found if I use a bigger yarn I may need to work in the next stitch to make them even
Rnd 3 to Rnd 6: sc into each stitch around.
If using safety eyes Place these into the double crochet 3 together clusters.
Creating the ARMS / Pads - All of the 3rd chain slip stitches are worked into the SAME space making this the middle of the Frogs Pad!
Rnd 7: Chain 10, slip stitch into the 2nd and 3rd chain from the hook, Ch3, single crochet into the 2nd and 3rd of chain, Ch3, single crochet into the 2nd and 3rd chain. slip stitch BACK into the base of the chain you just made.
Rnd 8 to Rnd 10: sc in each stitch around.
Create the Legs/Pads
Rnd 11: make sure your legs are starting in the right place, you may need to shift 1 stitch to make them equal at the side of the frog
Chain 10, slip stitch into the 2nd and 3rd chain from the hook, Ch2, single crochet into the 2nd and 3rd of chain, Ch2, single crochet into the 2nd and 3rd chain. slip stitch BACK into the base of the chain you just made
Stuff HERE shaping as necessary
Rnd 12: working through BOTH SIDES of the frog. Slip Stitch To join.
Fasten off and weave in ends.
If you wish to crochet the SMALL amigurumi Crochet Heart
It is worked in the same weight of yarn as your frog, with the same hook size being used
Starting at the Bottom of the heart, DO NOT JOIN rounds, work in continuous rounds! use a stitch marker to make a note of your rounds
