The easy crochet cow pattern that anyone can follow, even if you are a beginner! This FREE crochet cow pattern is a written pattern with image tutorial and is LOW SEW, as you will join the limbs as you make the cow.
The Cow Pattern is written and is beginner-friendly. You will only need some basic crochet skills, such as single crochet, increase, decrease, and slip stitch to crochet the cow.
The Crocheted Cow can be made into a Chonky Plushie Cow. Easily following small changes to the directions as required.
My grandson went to a farm with his nursery class and returned asking me to crochet a cow!
I only had one ball of white and one ball of black yarn and just a little leftover pink in a soft plushie-type yarn!
I always love to change up patterns and have a variety of different ways to crochet toys that are all in one! so I set out to come up with a quick simple EASY pattern for a plushie amigurumi cow
What you will need to crochet the Highland Cow
Plush Yarn 2x 100 grams (200grms )
A small amount of stuffing
Safety Eyes
Hook size - I used a 6.50mm but you can use any hook compatible with your yarn, for the Black and White cow, and a 5.5mm for the white cow.
Note:
Colour changes:
- I have NOT included the color changes and left it up to you.
- To change color, simply pull through the NEW color at the last pull-through of the single crochet stitch and work your desired amount in a new color, Carry the unworked color along the stitches in new colour, pulling through on the last step the main color changed back
- When you are joining the arms to the body you should FOLD the arms in half.
- Make sure the last round decreases are at the underside of the arm and work through Both sides of the arm AND BODY continue working in single crochet and join as you go.
- Watch my video below to SEE how to join the Limbs as you GO
