I think will also include at a later date how to create a Ribbed Border for the Balaclavas especially if you are wearing the balaclavas as ski masks.

However, We preferred the balaclavas just finished with a simple Single crochet around the Face opening.

Since last year when I made the Granny Square Balaclava.

I have been inundated with requests to crochet a snug balaclava ski mask.

And when My husband saw the finished balaclava he wanted one for himself.

I have also included a larger size to crochet a Large Male size Balaclava.

The balaclava also makes THE perfect crochet gift idea for men who are outdoors a lot.

My Husband lives in his baseball cap ear warmer most of the colder months.

The winds are high here in the Highlands of Scotland, but you know it's really cold when he puts on the balaclava to go out and check on the animals.

I had tried several ways to crochet the balaclava but found, being crocheted like you would make a crochet beanie hat-type head covering.

And they can be quite holey and thus useless at keeping the wind from our ears.

I also have a favorite in winter headwear I DO LOVE my Hooded crochet cowl with the turtleneck as it is great for those crisp winter days.

The Balaclava has been Tested against the Winds from the most Northernly point in Scotland.

It is shaped to fit your head and face But can be pulled up to cover the mouth if required.

I can safely say the crochet balaclavas are perfect for keeping heads cozy and warm.
