baby booties could be made in any color and will still look adorable. It really is an easy bootie crochet pattern that will now become one of my favorite go-to crochet booties patterns
How to crochet the Pumpkin Booties
For newborns, you will crochet the length of the bootie. These are the toe-to-heel measurements
- Newborn - Foot length/ starting chain = 3.5 inches
- 3-6 months - Foot length / starting chain = 3.75 inches
- 6- 12 months - foot length / starting chain = 4.0 inches
So for newborn bootie size, you will need a chain to measure 3.5’’ chain +2 ch length to start
NOTES: Remember to ADD Chain 2 on each size.
- You will need to know How to crochet the Half Double Crochet (US stitch.
- Working into the back loop of previous rows HALF DOUBLE CROCHET stitch.
- Using a 3.00mm hook ( NOTE: I am an extremely loose crocheter so please check the measurement of starting chain as you may need to adjust)
- 50 g Double knit yarn Orange and a small amount of Green for the Curly spirals (*AF)

Easy Baby Bootie Crochet Pattern
Ch 18 (or desired foot length) + Ch 2 = ch 20 to start
Row 1: Starting in the 3rd chain from hook, HDC in each stitch to end, ch2 TURN ( check measurement here again) (20)
Row2: working into the back loops of the previous stitch. HDC in each st, Ch2 TURN (18)
Row 3 to Row 5: working into the back loops of the previous stitch. HDC in each st, Ch2 TURN (18)
Row 6:
HDC in the next 10sts, ch2 TURN. (10sts )
Row 7 to Row 9: HDC in the next 2, ch2 TURN. (10sts)
Row 10: HDC into the next 10, chain 12, TURN
Row 11: working into the 3rd chain from hook, work HDC into each of the next Chains, and in the back loop of each st to end, ch2 TURN (20 sts )
Row 12 to Row 15: BL HDC in each stitch, ch2. TURN
Assembly and sewing together of the booties.
Fold the crochet piece in half. ( B to B)
Use the picture above as a guide to locate the TOE of the bootie. (A)
weaving in and out the stitches along the toe, at the end pull tightly to close.
Secure TOE with a few stitches. Continue sewing along the bottom SOLE (B to B)
Whip stitch along the sole and up the HEEL (C to C) to finish. Secure and fasten.

YOu will now Work sc AROUND the top of the bootie (D) (this is the top front, 2 sides, and back)
join yarn at Back Work evenly and single crochet in each stitch around. (*8 stitches evenly on each side around (24 stitches in total )
NOTE: IF you want to crochet the LEAVES around the BOOTIE skip to bottom of this pattern.
Round 2: (Creating the round for the shoelace to be weaved in and out of. )Ch1, sc into the BASE of the chain, *ch1, skip 1 st, and sc into the next st*
Round 3: ch1 and Single crochet in each stitch around (including into the chain 1 space of previous round)
Round 4: *ch2, slip stitch into the next stitch* repeat around in each stitch. slip to finish and fasten off

Shoelace: make a crochet Chain length in your chosen color, (this should be long enough to go around the Bootie and Tie in a secure bow.
Weave in and out around the Spaces in Round 2 of the ankle you created. And tie in a bow.
How to crochet the spiral corkscrews. (OR pattern further down for the Leaves ) (MAKE " in the One Piece)
Chain 12, start in the second chain from the hook and work 3sc INTO each stitch back along the chain, the work will automatically start to spiral. at the LAST stitch slip into and Chain a further 12 chains. start in the second chain from the hook and work 3sc INTO each stitch back along the chain, slip stitch back into the SAME space as before and fasten off leaving a tail and sew onto the bootie, in the center front of the bootie.

Round 2 (WORKING THIS ROUND IN the opposite direction of previous rounds.) Join Green yarn with a chain st at backloop of the previous rounds single crochet of heel in any stitch. "Make a chain of 6 sts, in the 2nd chain from hook, slip st, sc in next, hdc, in next, dc in next, and skip 1 single crochet of the previous round and slip to join in the NEXT st, (Leaf made) * Repeat * to * around, slip to join to beginning first ch, to finish.
CHANGE BACK to your orange colour (creating the tie holes)
Sc into the BASE of that first chain (counts as First sc), * Ch1, askip 1, back loop sc into the next stitch * repeat around.
Round 3: ch1 and Single crochet in each stitch around (including into the chain 1 space of previous round)
Round 4: *ch2, slip stitch into the next stitch* repeat around in each stitch. slip to finish and fasten off
The leaves will probably curl up, if you wish them to lay flat, spray lightly with water, and flatter, I usually use a heavy book to let dry in position.
