I saw a hat like this one online and it was a blooming fortune.
So I set out to recreate it but with my own color choices.
I went to my stash basket and literally pulled the first odd ball of yarn to come to hand.

(see the pictures below for how to do this)
The secret to NO ends to weave in at the end of making your hat. How about a secure knot that will stay together!
This was a method of joining yarn I saw recently and thought WOW. How amazing is that?
You really can join 2 different yarns together with NO WEAVING in ends! sound impossible, don't let it intimidate you.
Simply put you will tie the NEW yarn in a simple knot around the working yarn strand, take the tail from the NEW yarn and simply tie a knot around the current working yarn and PULL to tighten!
Since we are making a flat-top crochet bucket hat.
The start of hat will look a bit wonky in the beginning increases but trust the method.... the bucket hat sits in a nice shape when completed with a more flat top.
I would also make this for my husband as his fishing hat as he loves the shape of this hat.
