I love Decorating the house at this time of year and LOVE crocheting these EASY-to-crochet pumpkins. The stacking pumpkins made in 3 sizes, small, medium, and large,

These pumpkins are beginner friendly and are made in plush yarn.
I love the ribbed look of these pumpkins as they are made in ROWS, and crocheted in the back stitch giving the ribbing effect.

I use the Method of YARN UNDER for the Single crochet, it gives a much nicer finish and is not so ‘gappy’, simply put instead of YARN Over like you normally would, Yarn under the hook and then pull through.

TO Make the Pumpkin you will need
3.50 mm hook
Orange Yarn
A little bit of Green yarn

To make it slightly Bigger you could make the pumpkin Holding 2 Strands of DK yarn together and a 4.50mm hook and you can use a bigger hook.

Start with orange.
Rnd1:  2 ch, 6 sc into the 2nd ch from hook(6)
Rnd 2: work 2sc in each st around (12)
Rnd 3: *sc in nxt st,2sc in nxt * Repeat from *to *around (18)
Rnd 4: *sc in nxt 2 sts, 2sc in nxt * Repeat from *to *around (24)
Rnd 5: *sc in nxt 3 sts, 2sc in nxt * Repeat from *to *around (30)
Rnd6: * sc in nxt 4 sts,2sc in nxt * Repeat from *to *around (36)
Rnd 7: *sc in nxt 5 sts,2sc in nxt * Repeat from *to *around (42)
Rnd 8: to Rnd 17 Sc in each stitch around (42) (10 rounds in total )
Rnd 18: *sc in nxt 5 sts, work 2sctogether in nxt * Repeat from *to *around(36)
Rnd 19: *sc in nxt 4 sts, work 2sctogether in nxt * Repeat from *to *around (30)
Rnd 20: *sc in nxt 3 sts, work 2sctogether in nxt * Repeat from *to *around (24)

Start Stuffing here
Change to GREEN yarn.

Rnd 21: *sc in nxt 2 sts, work 2sctogether in nxt * Repeat from *to *around (18)
Rnd 22: *sc in nxt  st, work 2sctogether in nxt * Repeat from *to *around (12)
Add in some more stuffing here making sure its quite full
Rnd 23: *2sctog ** Repeat  around (6)
Rnd 24: 8 ch, (STEM) working  into the 2nd ch from the hook, continue to crochet 1 sc in each ch, back down the chain just created)  you will make 7 sc in total.

(STEM CREATED) work 2sctogether around, and slip to the 7th sc of the stem (bottom of stem to Join)
Fasten off. Use the green yarn tail to Tighten the small opening.  Weave in the end to hide.

Shaping and Making the Seams around the Pumpkin you can pin where you want each seam to go but I usually just go with eye placement. Flatten into a shape for a pumpkin.

1. Cut a long piece of your chosen color for the pumpkin.  Cut it as long as it is comfortable to work with.
2. Thread it into the needle.
3. Fix the yarn at the top of the orange part. Weave between the rows towards the bottom of the pumpkin however, leave out the last 3 rounds.
4. Pierce your pumpkin from the bottom where you have just ended back to the top (pushing the needle and yarn back to the same position where you started but through the pumpkin this time)
And pull hard to tighten. (it will cinch it in)
5. Repeat step number 4, and fasten it if you think it needs it to secure
6. Count a few steps either left or right, and REPEAT STEP 3 - STEP 5
It is up to you how many times you do this.

I have found 6 equal seams to be best.
Fasten off and weave in all ends.
