This crochet cardigan for 0-3 months baby, is worked in half double crochet and made from the neck top down, the simple pattern makes it great for even beginners, it really is so simple as it can be made very quickly.
Crochet Baby Sweater Pattern
Materials:
About 2 x 50g of double knit yarn (light worsted / 3) And some contrasting colour if desired.
Size 4.50mm hook or G hook
3hdcs = work 3 hdc into the stitch indicated
Note: In this pattern the ch 2 at the beginning of the row DOES NOT count as the first hdc.
You will work your first hdc in the bottom of the chain2 , and when working the last stitch at the end of the row you will work into that hdc, not into the ch 2.
This will give you a straighter edge and a no gaps from the turning chain.
Starting at neck edge, ch 38
Row 1: Hdc in 3rd ch from hook and in each ch across. (36 hdc)

Row 13 - 23 For the remainder of the sweater continue working in hdc across each row or switch to any stitch you prefer and work that until the sweater is the length you want it to be.

Row 6: Ch 2, , 2hdc together, hdc to end, TURN,
Row7-10: Ch 2, 2hdc together, hdc to end, cut yarn leaving enough to sew the sleeve seam together.
