I made this pram blanket for a friend and it was my first attempt at the C2C. I found I need the WRitten Pattern for the C2C but I have also included a handy video that i found from @The Crochet Crowd.
If like me you get a bit bored with bigger projects, this is perfect. As when you get halfway you start decreasing the stitches and before you know it you are finished with the blanket.
Please READ through all these patterns before commencing. I have tried to write it out so it is easy if this is your first attempt at a Corner to Corner.
Once you master the sides and make the first blocks of the rows then the rest whips up really easily. Watch the video to see how to do this easy diagonal stitch.
If you are still not convinced you can crochet the Corner 2 Corner stitch. I have a similar pattern that is a MOCK c2c stitch but simply worked in ROWS
To make a Vintage Style C2C Baby Blanket
FREE written Crochet Pattern for the Corner to Corner stitch
I used a 4.00mm hook 4 x 100-gram balls of Double Knit Yarn = worsted)

ch 6.
Row 1 (Right Side):
Dc in 4th ch from hook and in next 2 ch
turn {1 block made}
Row 2:
Ch 6, dc in 4th ch from hook and in next 2 ch, (slip st, ch 3, 3 dc) all in ch-3 space of the previous row
turn {2 blocks made}
Row 3:
Ch 6, dc in 4th ch from hook and in next 2 ch, [(slip st, ch 3, 3 dc) all in next ch-3 space of previous row] twice; turn {3 blocks made}
Row 4:
Ch 6, dc in 4th ch from hook and in next 2 ch, [(slip st, ch 3, 3 dc) all in next ch-3 space of previous row]3 times turn {4 blocks made}.
Continue working like this, 5 blocks, 6 blocks, 7 blocks......keep increasing 1 block on each row until there are 34 blocks across (or as WIDE as you want the blanket to be)
When you have reached your desired length. to make a rectangle you are ONLY going to increase on one side this is to make the width now stay the same and the length grow.
Continue working with increasing 1 block ONLY on one side. At the width side we are not increasing, continue Increasing the Right Side of Work by working the 6 chain. combination.
when we get to the end of the round we will slip st across the first 3 dc, {(slip st, ch 3, 3 dc) =DECREASE} all in the next ch-3 space of the previous row;
work in blocks along to the end of work.
Continue making increases until your happy with your length (I made 42 blocks length-wise for Pram Blanket in Picture)
Now work in
decreasing
rows as follows: slip st across first 3 dc, * (slip st, ch 3,3 dc) all in next ch-3 space of previous row; repeat from *to last ch-3 space; slip st in last space;
turn
do NOT make any further blocks WORKING (slip stitch, chains 3dc) at EACH end from now on,
The work now get easier as you are decreasing at both sides now until
1 block remains.
Fasten off.
Border:
You can choose any border you like to finish off this blanket,
Round 1
Join Yarn and Chain3.
I worked in Double Crochet around the full width and length with 3DC in each corner. So I could thread Ribbon through the blanket.
And the last round was
(SC, Dc in same stitch Chain3, skip 1) continue working this around, Fasten off and finish blanket
As it is a Pram Blanket I like to wash first and block.
Then to finish the Blanket with Ribbon weave in and out through the posts of every second DC of the previous round.
