People often ask me is it easy to crochet flowers! I always answer yes! I love the simplicity of crocheting flowers, yet the effect is stunning, and can add a little pizzazz to a headband, a crochet hat or in fact any of your crochet projects.
So I am going to show you step by step this easy layered crochet flower.
This is a nice flat sitting 3 layer crochet flower, I used double knit yarn and 4.00mm hook,
this was so I could get good clear photos for the crochet flower tutorial.
Ch 8, join with sl st to form a ring
Ch 1, working in ring, 1 sc, 1 hdc, 4 dc, 1 hdc, 2 sc, 1 hdc, 4 dc, 1 hdc, 1 sc, sl st on the 1st sc. (16 sts)
Ch 1, sc in same st, (Ch 3, skip one st, sc on next st) repeat around, join. (8 x ch3 loops )
(Sc, hdc, 3 dc, hdc, sc) in ch-3 loop, sl st in sc} repeat around, join. (This creates 8 petals)
Ch 1, still facing front, work the next stitches at the back of rnd 3 petals, (sc on the next available st from rnd 1, ch 5) repeat around, join. (8 ch-5 loops)
Rnd 6:Ch 5, still facing front, work the next stitches at the back of rnd 5 petals, (skip one st, sc on the same st as the ch-3 loop from rnd 2, ch 5) repeat around, join. (8 ch-5 loops)
Fasten off and weave in ends.
