How do you crochet a stretchy baby headband.

If you stil lwant to use cotton there is not much stretch in this material,  so If you want to make these a little more stretchy I would thread a piece of elastic through both ends and sew them to join into a circle. This will help if the headbands are for a baby you haven't met or are unsure of the size of their head measurements

I managed to get hold of some lovely Egyptian cotton, with silver strands through it, whilst I was on holiday, and just knew they would make lovely cute baby crochet headbands.
As we go into Summer I was considering putting away the crochet hook until winter as I could not make another baby hat in this lovely weather,  however, someone asked me if I crocheted baby headbands.
Well I Could not resist coming up with some adorable lacy baby headband crochet patterns.

What size is a crochet headbandfor a baby, 0-3 months:  Length will depend on your baby's head circumference, If you are making for someone else I will provide standard head sizes for newborn to toddler, you can attach a piece of elastic at the back of the 2 ends and then sew it into a circle to provide a little bit of stretch
It is up to you how you wish to finish the headbands, for photo shoots I use small tie chords, as the baby is very small at the newborn photo shoots so it can be made to fit better.
I have also added a small button to the headband (Saftey first ALWAYS! please ensure everything is really well secured and adult supervision, remove for baby when sleeping )

If you would like to bookmakr this page you can save it over on pinterest

How Big Should a crochet baby headband be?
