This easy crocheted Rose pattern is so versatile, I love how it resembles the English rose, with its different sizes of petals radiating from the center.

If you are a beginner Do not be intimidated by thinking you cannot make this. You can!!

The Rose is crocheted in ONE PIECE, and then you Roll the piece into position before you sew the ends in to secure through the layers of the rose petals. 

           

To be able to make this crochet rose you should be able to 

Abbreviations:  

Treble crochet - Trc

single crochet -  sc

(dc, ch 2, dc) all worked into the specified Stitch  = V stitch 

double crochet - dc

The Crochet ROSE Pattern is written in US terms

Any size of hook and yarn is suitable for this project,

I used Double Knit (worsted weight ) and a size 9 (3.500mm hook for the Pink one in the pictures)

Leave at least a 10" length for sewing.

CROCHET ROSE FLOWER PATTERN 

To start the Rose

Chain 58.

Row 1 (Wrong Side): 

Dc into the 7th ch from hook (5 skipped chs count as first dc plus ch 2, V stitch), 

*ch 2, skip next 2 chs, (dc, ch 2, dc) in next ch; repeat from * across,   (18 V spaces created)

Please Note: for Row 2 of the crochet rose

(You will be working the petals into the Vs, and sc into  the stitch between the V stitches)

Ch 3, turn; 5 dc in next ch-2 sp, sc in next ch2 st

(6 dc in next ch-2 sp, sc in next ch2 st) 5times, 

(9 dc in next ch-2 sp, sc in next ch2 st) 9 times, 

(10Trc in next ch-2 sp, sc in nxt ch2 st)  repeat until the end, finishing with a 10Trc in the LAST V stitch, leaving a 10" length for sewing. Weave this through the LAST treble crochet stitch to the bottom of your work, and this can be used to help secure the ROSE when you have rolled it up . 

You Will now have a length of petals and it will be automatically wanting to naturally curl in on itself, this is how you will now continue to create the rose.

You will be rolling into this natural curve Starting to Roll from the smaller to the larger petals at the end.

Fasten off and use the lengths of yarn left to secure the petals of the rose into place, by weaving in and out around the bottomside of the BASE of the Flower to help secure the petals.

 

I recently made a bouquet of crochet Red Roses.

 It was very easy to create a rose bouquet from this rose pattern. 

I needed to add stems onto the Roses, I did this in 2 ways. 

I threaded Green wire through the Rose and covered in Green Yarn for the Stem. 

And then twisted the stems all together so I could put them into a Vase. 

HOW TO create the Long STEMMED Crochet Rose with leaves and stems 

Crochet the Sepal of the rose 

in GREEN and the smae hook you used for making the rose 

Rnd 1: ch2, sc into the first chain from the hook, work a further 5 sc into the same space, slip to join (6sts) 

Rnd 2: Ch1, 2sc into each stitch around, slst to join  (12sts) 

Rnd 3: Ch1, 2sc into next  stitch, sc into the next st, Repeat  around, slst to join  (18sts) 

Rnd 4: sc into each st around 

Rnd 5: * Ch 7 , working back along the chain just made,  slip stitch into the 2nd chain from the hook, sc into the next 2 chs, hdc into the next st, dc into the next 2 sts, SKIP the next 2 stitches of the main circle, slst to the main circle to join,*   Repeat Around. 

Crochet Rose Leaf Pattern  (make 1 or 2 per Rose depending on your preference) 

Ch13

sc into the 3rd chain from the hook, Hdc into the next ch, dc in the next 2 chs,  trc into the next st, 2trc into the next st, trc into the next st, dc into the next 2sts, hdc in nxt st, sc into the nxt st, (sc,ch1,sc ) in the LAST chain to help TURN working into the back of the chain, sc in the next ch, hdc  into the next st,, dc into the nxt 2sts, trc into the next st, 2trc into the next st, trc into the next st, dc in the next 2 chs, Hdc into the next ch, sc into  the last, and slip to join,

Working down the Middle of your LEF (the original chains) slip stitch in every chain to the last st, and chain 3 to finish which will be used to help join the leaf to the stem 

 Chain 6 to finish, leaving a long end to help attach the leaf when you come to assemble the rose and stem, pull through to fasten off. 

How to Create a Forever Rose Bouquet 

Forever Bouquet of Crocheted Red Roses. This bunch of crocheted Roses Makes a fantastic Gift for a loved one or a special friend. 

Using the Same Large Crochet Rose Pattern, I have crocheted a rose bouquet of 12 Red Roses, I did not make the Sepal and leaves but you can if you wish 

arranged them into a plastic bucket I had spray painted Black and Covered with a metallic ribbon
